basic formula for cover letters is as follows:

Standard
business letter format - company name, title, company, address--top left
·
Salutation
(find out who the contact is.)
·
First
paragraph – Immediately tell why you are writing? Explain that you are very
interested in the position that the company has advertised.

Second
paragraph - briefly state a couple of your most pertinent skills (reference your
resume), then
explain how these skills can add value to the company.
·
Third
paragraph – good close! Write with
a pleasant, firm tone. Ask for the
interview and explain that you will follow up soon.
