·        The student will use basic math operators to analyze statistics in several “what if “scenarios.

·        The student will utilize popular search engines (Google, ask) to seek out pertinent information.

·        The student will apply the concept to create their own questions and answers.

TASKS

Depending on the class size, this lesson can easily be adapted to group or individual activity.

1. Handout the worksheet.   Tell the students that they will be required to use their internet search skills to find statistical information, based on the clues in each question.

2. Once they have found the information, they must then formulate the answers to each question.

3. After correctly answering each question, students will be asked to orally present their findings.

4.  As a follow up, students can be challenged to create their own 3-5 question quizzes on a topic of their choice.   Internet research must be applied.
